Dr. Mike Butterfield

is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC with appointments in the Departments of Psychiatry and Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics and is the Director of the Pain Medicine Residency Program. He obtained his medical degree at UBC, completed his specialty training in psychiatry at Dalhousie University and was the inaugural resident of the Pain Medicine subspecialty residency program at the UBC. His areas of interest include headache medicine, neuropathic pain, addiction medicine, and interventional pain medicine. He currently works at St. Paul’s Hospital, VGH, the UBC Headache Clinic. He conducts clinical research at the Non-Invasive Neurostimulation Therapies clinic at UBC.
