0:00 what could improve uh migraine care as a
0:02 scientist myself I believe knowledge is
0:05 power and so what I would strongly
0:07 suggest is family doctors and general
0:10 practitioners to uh look up migraine
0:12 Canada my attention was drawn toward the
0:15 migraine Canada website is a terrific
0:19 website I thought I knew a lot about
0:21 migraines and I learned a lot more when
0:23 I talked about this to my family doctor
0:25 they weren’t even aware of this resource
0:28 that’s available there’s just a lot lot
0:30 of information there are kinds of
0:32 treatments and medications through these
0:34 resources they can understand and see
0:37 what’s the recent literature what’s the
0:39 recent findings and just to empower them
0:42 so that they can help their patients on
0:44 the website of Migrant Canada you can
0:46 get a lot of informations and it’s also
0:48 you can know that these are true
0:51 informations and you can listen to
0:54 podcast it’s a good tool to find some
0:56 help as well I think that the more we
0:59 educate
1:00 not only the public but even our
1:02 government the more they’ll become aware
1:05 that migraine is a neurological disorder
1:07 that has a significant negative impact
1:10 on people’s
1:12 [Music]
1:21 lives do you have access to a
1:24 neurologist no no I don’t not right now
1:27 yes I do have access to a neurologist I
1:29 now have access to a neurologist and
1:31 that has completely changed my life it
1:33 took about 15 years to find a
1:36 neurologist specialized in migraine
1:38 disorder every time that I ask for one
1:41 they usually tell me that there is a
1:43 super long waiting list it was really my
1:45 neurologist who was able to give me my
1:48 magic cocktail that works most of the
1:50 time I think migraine Canada as a a
1:54 message to the society saying that as
1:57 other disease that we know much more
1:58 about it migraine
2:00 does exist and it’s painful and it’s
2:02 something to be to be considered
2:04 hopefully this will help more funding on
2:07 behalf of the government everyone
2:09 deserves to have access to the
2:11 appropriate care and also to Affordable
2:13 medication I think it’s important to
2:16 spread just general awareness it’s such
2:19 an invisible pain that you don’t really
2:22 get considered I think it’s important
2:24 people to uh in each Community to really
2:28 talk about it I think compassion would
2:30 be good also by by them sharing
2:32 information on on this this disease
2:35 because it’s very painful for people who
2:37 have it very painful
