Executive Director, Wendy Gerhart, joined national partners in Ottawa for two important days supporting Bill S-243, the National Framework for Women’s Health led by Senator Daniele Henkel. We met with elected officials, including Federal Minister of Health, Majorie Michel, who showed strong engagement and encouraging support, reinforced by evidence, including the $37 billion economic opportunity tied to advancing women’s health.
In addition to 1:1 meetings, there was a national forum and reception with more than 200 advocates, alongside federal leaders and partners, highlighting that this is a growing movement uniting organizations across sectors. While momentum is strong, continued advocacy will be essential as the bill moves forward. We will keep you posted as the Bill moves forward.
