What is Move for Migraine?
Move for Migraine is an awareness and fundraising campaign dedicated to bringing the community together to elevate understanding of this neurological disease and to foster unity within the community. Our goal is to build robust community support, engaging individuals and groups to create a strong network of solidarity. We encourage you to join forces to effect meaningful change!
Move for Migraine will be a week-long event, starting Sunday, June 1st and ending Sunday, June 8th, 2025. Participants can show their support by running, walking, bicycling, swimming, practicing yoga, relaxing and/or other activities to spread awareness, show support, and fundraise for Migraine Canada.

What’s New for 2025?
This year, we’re introducing an exciting new challenge! Our goal is for Move for Migraine participants to collectively take enough steps to travel across Canada—from coast to coast. While we realize our trek across Canada will likely take more than the month of June in 2025, we can get started and tackle one province at time! Let’s see how far we can get.
- The Distance: Walking from Victoria, British Columbia to St. John’s, Newfoundland covers approximately 7,013 km, which equals about 10.26 million steps!
- Track Your Steps: Whether you walk, run, cycle, swim, or do yoga, every movement counts! Make sure to enter your steps during the month of June on our easy and convenient Move for Migraine Step Tracker below.
- Not Walking or Running? Convert Your Activity into Steps: If you’re doing a non-step-based activity, use this converter to calculate your steps and make sure to record them below. If your activity is not listed, check out alternative step converter options:
*Please note: The tools linked above are external resources and not affiliated with Migraine Canada. We’re sharing them as helpful guides for those participating in Move for Migraine.

*Changes may not be visible right away, tracker updates throughout the day.

Supporters have the flexibility to participate virtually or by organizing local in-person meet-ups. As details of in-person gatherings are confirmed, we will update the information on our site. If you’re interested in hosting a meet-up in your city or town, we’re here to assist you. Please contact us at [email protected].
How You Can Help Fundraise!
Utilizing our Peer-to-Peer fundraising platform, we encourage all community members to get involved. You can participate individually or form teams with family, friends, and colleagues. Each participant is empowered to share their personal fundraising page and stories, helping to promote their fundraising efforts and the broader cause.
We encourage participants to post on social media throughout the week and tag us to help spread awareness and have our voices heard. Use our Move for Migraine Fundraising Toolkit for sample posts, copy, and fundraising tips!
Participants can start fundraising today until June 30th, 2025. Check out our fundraising incentives and see what fundraising early will get you!
Help us reach our goal of $5,000!
