- The Stollery Children's Hospital Headache Program is a comprehensive clinic that diagnoses and treatments children with complex headache & facial pain disorders throughout northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories. We employ a variety of strategies including lifestyle and behavioural management for headache disorders through to medications and interventional treatments (nerve blocks, Botox injections, neurostimulation and monoclonal antibodies) for more complex or refractory headache patients. We run the largest Pediatric Headache Clinical Trials program in Western Canada, in collaboration with industry and investigator initiated trials we offer our pediatric patients access to state of the art, emerging treatments for headaches in a safe and monitored research setting through our Clinical Investigation Uni (CIU). To improve the overall care and outcomes of children, the clinic uses a closely collaborative approach with community pediatric neurologists and pediatricians. To improve access to care in our broad catchment area, we offer virtual/telehealth services and a nursing support phone line.
