Susan Cape is a 4th year PhD. student in the school of Social Work at McMaster university and a seasoned Registered Social Service Worker who has worked in both non profit and private settings. In this webinar she connects her clinical experience – working with individuals, couples and families on how to improve their communication skills – with her personal experience as a migraine patient who had to learn how to navigate personal and professional relationships differently post diagnosis.
What will be covered:
- For Migraine Patients: How to better communicate with friends/family/partners/healthcare professionals your needs and boundaries.
- For family/friends/partners of migraine patients: How to support someone who has a chronic disability while maintaining your own needs and boundaries.
- The importance of collaboration and acceptance in your relationships.
- The difference between connecting and disconnecting communication and why that matters.
